What happens when a grandmother refuses to be just “Grandma”—when she insists on being Mom instead?

In Who’s Mom?, we dive into the heartbreaking journey of a mother fighting to reclaim her rightful place in her children’s lives. After a difficult divorce, Lena had to make the hard choice to let her children stay with their grandmother temporarily. But what was meant to be a short-term arrangement quickly turned into something far more sinister.

Whispers of manipulation. Subtle shifts in loyalty. A grandmother who loves too much—or perhaps, not in the right way.

This story explores the emotional toll of family manipulation, the confusion it causes in children, and the quiet resilience of a mother who refuses to let her bond be erased. If you’ve ever struggled with boundaries in family relationships or have seen the impact of emotional manipulation firsthand, this story will resonate deeply.

Can Lena reclaim her place before it’s too late?

What would you do if someone tried to rewrite your role in your child’s life?

Read the full story “Who’s Mom?” now and join the conversation!

Let’s talk about the power of a mother’s love—and the strength it takes to stand firm in the face of manipulation.

I thought I’d get to do some barn cleaning this week, but…

This won’t stay long, but the mud left behind will be too slippery for me to maneuver a wheel barrow.

My Dad’s donkeys: hey, I know you! But, you’re not the guy who feeds us!

Daddy hasn’t left the hospital yet. No other news to share there.

Apr06-25

I was checking the fence line at my Dad’s. The horses came over to see what I was doing as I was getting closer to their feeding area. Only there was a bit of mud on a slight hill and one horse brushed by me trying to get out of another horses way and…

well, I’m not hurt. The horses were really surprised that I decided to roll around in the mud though!

My Dad is out of the hospital. He will be staying in a therapy center until he regains the strength to move around by himself – the events leading up to the surgery took a major toll on his body! The details are complicated and private, so please do not ask. The point is, this is a long recovery process and continued thoughts and prayers for a quick healing are most welcome!

My Facebook account was suspended for a few, scary hours. My horse profile seems to have disappeared altogether. Some policy change, I guess. Or, it’ll be back in a few days. I had already befriended 250 people on it, but I can start again… at least my personal account, my link to my friends and family, is good!

Now matter how (or if) you celebrate Easter, I hope you are having a wonderful day!

A Gentle Reminder for Fellow Creators and Business Owners…

Today I received a letter that took me way back—15 years back, to be exact. It was a reminder of something so easy to overlook in our digital world: always double-check the license before using an image in your business or blog.

Apr23-25

The image in question was from a newspaper article I shared on my blog fifteen years ago! I had completely forgotten about it. At the time, I assumed it was fine to use since it was readily available online and used just to reference an article. But here’s the important part: just because an image is online doesn’t mean it’s free to use—even for educational or blog purposes. This particular image didn’t carry a Creative Commons license, and that makes a big difference legally.

I’ve removed the image and hope that resolves the issue, but it definitely gave me a moment of reflection. For those of us wearing many hats—whether it’s running a small business, sharing our healing journeys, or creating content from the heart—it’s so easy to forget the little things that could have big implications later on.

So here’s my little nudge for you today: Take a few extra minutes to check the image license. It’s worth it for peace of mind. Don’t know where to go for images to use? Just ask – I have a list now!

At Healing Horse Touch, we believe in integrity, kindness, and mindfulness in all we do—including honoring the rights of artists and creators who share their work with the world.

Have you ever had a surprise like this pop up years later? I’d love to hear your story and what you learned from it.

Let’s continue to Discover Healing, Connection, and Renewal through Horses—and thoughtful, intentional living.

My Dad is happy to finally be back home. Hopefully, he’ll never have such a long hospital stay again!

Apr 26

Yep, some of us weird people really do feel better cleaning!

I don’t use Clorox (most common cleaning products give me a migraine, so I use Young Living Essential Oil’s cleaning solutions), but I do relate to what this commercial says!

Apr29-25

Woo-hoo! I finally have a business plan in place!

I had initially skipped creating a business plan – though I had done almost all of the research for one – because it seemed unnecessary. When I started looking at grant applications and saw that many require one, I decided to get it done (the first application I want to send it is due tomorrow… nothing like last minute rush!). The nice thing about having it done is that now a lot of information is all in one place and [hopefully] easy to find.

Apr 29

Woo-hoo! My newest achievement! This one required the completion of 4 courses: Business Fundamentals, Entrepreneur Coach, Productivity and Resilience. 70 hours of detailed video instruction. It takes longer than that when you have to rewatch the videos when your mind wandered off…

Thank you Transformation Academy I love the courses!
