I usually stay quiet about political issues, but this time, I can’t. When people lose access to SNAP benefits because leaders can’t find common ground, it stops being a political disagreement—it becomes a humanitarian one.

We’re talking about families, children, seniors, and people with disabilities—real lives that depend on these programs to meet their most basic needs. Taxpayers are still paying into the system, yet those who rely on it most are being denied essential support.

Using people’s food, housing, and health as bargaining chips for “leverage” feels deeply wrong. We’ve stood against these tactics in other parts of the world—why would we turn them on our own citizens?

No matter where someone stands politically, we should all agree that access to food and essential services isn’t a privilege. It’s a basic human right. Compassion and compromise should always come before control.

Bob and I were rearranging the hay shed yesterday afternoon in order to get to the door in the back. We found thousands of ladybugs prepared to hibernate there. We’ve never seen so many! Normally, we’d leave them alone. But, this year, they started swarming and biting everyone. So, Bob sprayed them.

I almost cried as they dropped off the wall. I had to leave. (I can’t watch wasps get sprayed either – even if I’m the one wanting them gone! I’m just a tad soft-hearted.)

Some things have gone wrong in my business. I’m very frustrated and needing to change direction. Again. Instead of focusing on the negative, I’ve created a music video.

“Still Connected to My Dream” is a heartfelt folk-acoustic song for every dreamer, entrepreneur, and creative soul who’s ever felt lost on the journey. It’s a reminder that success isn’t just about achievement—it’s about balance, joy, and staying true to what inspired you in the first place.

Sometimes we lose our way chasing goals. This song invites you to slow down, breathe, and reconnect with your purpose. Failures aren’t the end—they’re part of the climb.

If this song speaks to your heart, please like, comment, and share it with someone who might need encouragement today.

I learned early on that sometimes dreams take time. I waited 18 years for my first horse, Gypsy—and she was worth every moment of that wait. That experience taught me something beautiful: the things that matter most rarely happen overnight.

Since then, I’ve found myself waiting in many seasons of life—waiting for doors to open, for prayers to be answered, for healing to come. Some waits have been long, others shorter, but each one has carried its own lessons in trust, patience, and faith.

There’s something sacred about the waiting. It stretches us, humbles us, and gently prepares our hearts for what’s coming. And though the waiting can be hard, I believe that when we finally see the bigger picture—when we meet our Creator face to face—we’ll all look back and say with full hearts, it was Worth the Wait.

A note about the video: I didn’t have quite enough pictures, so I used AI for some (you should be able to tell). The music and voice are, surprisingly, AI as well, but the lyrics are my story.

Have you ever reached a point where your work or passion started to swallow up the edges of your life? Where you look around and realize you’re not quite sure where “you” end and your responsibilities begin?

Nov14-25

I’ve been sitting with that feeling lately. While creating a video yesterday, an AI tool generated a completely unexpected image…and it stopped me in my tracks. It captured something I haven’t always had the words for—those moments when I feel woven so tightly into my own mission that I forget to breathe as a person first.

Maybe you’ve been there too. Maybe you’ve poured so much heart into your business, your caregiving, or your creative work that the boundaries blur. You love what you do, but some days it feels like it’s holding you in place rather than lifting you up.

This image reminded me that even in meaningful work—especially in meaningful work—we need room to step back, reconnect with our own spirit, and remember why we started in the first place. That pause is where clarity returns. It’s where joy sneaks back in. And for me, it’s often where a quiet moment with a horse helps me find my footing again.

If you’ve ever felt trapped in your own purpose, you’re not alone. There’s strength in admitting it, and even more strength in choosing balance over burnout.

How do you rediscover your joy when overwhelmed?

I got super excited that one of my Facebook reels had 300+ views! Woo-hoo!

Then, I saw someone else’s reel at 200k views. Whoa! Nothing like a splash of cold water in the face to bring one down to reality!

One step at a time. Right? 🙂 We have goals!

Wow. I guess it’s almost time to break out the snow shoes… I’m glad we’re on the Southern edge of this storm! We’re not quite ready to get snowed in (we need to move the tractor into position)!

Some songs are written to entertain. This one was written to heal.

“Always Time for Gratitude” grew out of those quiet barn moments where everything slows down—sunrise over the pasture, the sound of hooves in the distance, that gentle nuzzle that reminds you you’re not alone. Horses have a way of bringing us back to center and helping us see the good that’s still here, even on the hard days.

This song was written to be part of our course Always Time for Gratitude, created to help you shift from overwhelm to appreciation, one simple moment at a time. If you’ve been craving more peace, more grounding, and more connection in your life, let this melody guide you back to what matters.

Listen now, breathe deep, and let the horses whisper their wisdom. There truly is always time for gratitude.
