I need a mindset shift.
I created this wonderful book on Gratitude and some beautiful products. You would think that it would be an easy transition to put it on the market and do a little advertising, but…. no. I’m not sure why other than the pending question: what if I spend money and no one wants it any of my products? Does that make me a failure???
Instead of advertising, I decided it would be a good time to run off to visit family. But, Bob got a sore throat Wednesday night, so we post-poned our visit to see if this was contagious (we don’t want to share with my parents – they have enough to deal with right now without us bringing germs!). I was thinking yesterday morning that maybe this wasn’t contagious after all… then, I started getting a sore throat last night and it is insisting on growing this morning. Ugh! I really did not want this – I was sick just a month ago! Even so, I am glad we decided to post-pone the visit and not share this!
So, I procrastinated the advertising while waiting for something else instead of making use of the time I was given. or… I needed the rest and to enjoy the extra alone time with my husband and will feel comfortable advertising when the time is right.
It is a matter of perspective, isn’t it?

A few weeks ago, I told Bob that I was sad that my claw clips were all breaking. I am down to 3 that do not match. I’ve looked at the ones in Walmart, Dollar General and the grocery store countless times and just could not bring myself to buy them. The only reason I have these is that they belonged to my mother and I found them useful. The new ones though seem to have weak springs. I was trying to decide what to do.
I do not want short hair. I keep trying simple pony tails, but my hair gets in the food or tangled in whatever I’m working with. So, do I buy replacements that I won’t really be happy with or try the hated bobby pins again. Bob suggested looking for some creative clips on Etsy.
I found several I liked and then found CUSTOM ones that I design my own image… I ordered one after I found a tutorial on how to do it myself and decided I’d rather have someone else do it.
It is strong and well made. Of course, I LOVE the design! LOL I’ll be ordering more, for sure.

A few weeks ago, I saw a comment from someone who was thankful they knew enough about nature that there was no such thing as a bomb cyclone or atmospheric river. I couldn’t remember hearing or reading the terms before but Pilot Bob explained to me what a bomb cyclone was and how scary one would be to an unsuspecting pilot, which is why pilots tend to be very careful weather observers.
I was looking at the weather tonight and this headline caught my attention and reminded me of the topic: https://www.accuweather.com/en/severe-weather/developing-bomb-cyclone-with-atmospheric-river-to-blast-eastern-us/1721970
So, a bomb cyclone is “When the central pressure crashes 0.71 of an inch of mercury (24 millibars) in 24 hours or less, like this storm is projected to do, bombogenesis will occur and a bomb cyclone will be born.”
The dictionary defines bombogenesis: “rapid intensification of a storm caused by a sudden and significant drop in atmospheric pressure : the development or intensification of a bomb cyclone.”
And, NOAA explains that: “Atmospheric rivers are relatively long, narrow regions in the atmosphere – like rivers in the sky – that transport most of the water vapor outside of the tropics. “
So, both are legitimate terms with known scientific definitions and not some made-up conspiracy to confuse the minds of the general population – just in case the kids come home asking questions or needing to write a weather report.

This morning, we were wrapped in fog and the trees were decorated in heavy frost. It has been a beautiful day. Merry Christmas!

The Lord has once again saved my vision. A cat was sleeping on top of the roll door of the shed when I went to close it for the night. I heard him scramble and stopped the motion. He looked at me and I thought for a moment that he was stuck. Then, he slid down and bounced off my face. I have a few punctures on my nose and cheek and a shallow scratch on my eyelid, but the eye itself is fine. We will, of course, continue watching for infection, but I am thankful right now that I continue to be able to see!
