October 2024

I got a little discouraged with the message of my marketing course to, basically, go big or go home. So, I took a few days off and did a few creative projects instead.

My goal for October was to have at least 30 items listed in our Etsy shop (we started with 4). As of last night, we have 32!

Pretty cool to have the month’s goal accomplished in two days! I don’t think I’ve ever done that before!

I added outdoor pillows (thank you everyone for the input!), magnets, a notebook, coasters, and several tshirts. I am considering adding long sleeve tees with winter coming. Currently, though, my creative mode seems to be dwindling again.

New poll. Do any of these look better than the others or does everyone simply not like them? I already have two negative votes against the color. If no one likes them, I’ll have to rethink colors.

Nearly a decade ago, I shared a someone’s story of domestic trauma and people jumped all over me for doing so. I was told that I shouldn’t share stories that were not my own. I was discouraged and deleted the post.

Now, I have come to understand that if we don’t support and uplift each other the world becomes very small indeed. I do, after all, have quite a few trauma survivors on my friend list. Besides that, we’d have to close down every news and media outlet out there because they share other people’s stories every single day!

So, in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness month, I have created a story that is not my own, but that far too many can relate to (even if they are not ready to share their own experience yet).

I am doing a little happy dance right now… I got my first order! It is a small item – just a pin with Jesus Loves You on it. But, someone loves it enough to order it!

Time to switch gears though… the creativity needs placed on hold and cleaning needs to be done!

We received our Federal Tax Exempt letter for Healing Horse Touch in the mail in only 17 days (counting weekends)!

I am in awe. Although the website says 80% of the applicants (using the form that we used) are accepted within 22 days, I certainly didn’t expect to receive notice by mail for at least two more weeks as they were still working through August applications when we submitted ours. With such quick response in both state and federal, I am further convinced that the Lord has blessed this direction!

Another story for Domestic Violence Awareness… along with one of my new tshirt designs.

Glad it’s Friday. We have all come down with a cold or something.

I should be taking advantage of the beautiful day (I have a few simple projects that really need to get done before it gets cold). Instead, I’m thinking about going back to bed.
